STEPHENSON Family History

This section is concerned with the genealogy of the Stephenson Family especially those from Whickham, then Gateshead, then Waldridge near Chester le Street in County Durham.

Although it was rumoured that our family was linked to George Stephenson of Rocket and Locomotion 1 fame, no definite link has been discovered. It is more likely that we are related via George's wife Frances Henderson but as yet nothing has been proven.
